1. Overview

Lyrictica is designed with a privacy-first approach. We believe that your offline media files should remain personal to you. This Privacy Policy details the exact instances when data is processed locally on your device versus when external APIs are contacted to perform specific functions.

2. Personal Data Collection

We collect zero personal data. There is no registration screen, no account creation, and no collection of personal identifiers (such as name, email address, telephone number, or location details). Your usage of the app remains completely anonymous.

3. Audio and Media Files

  • Local Processing (Visualizations & Rhythm Games): The signature audio wave visualizations, beat-tracking, and dynamic arcade rhythm game levels are generated and computed entirely on your physical device. We never transmit your local audio files to our servers for these core visualizer experiences.
  • AI Karaoke (Vocal Separation): When you activate the AI Karaoke feature, the app securely uploads the selected audio file to the Lalal.ai API (operated by Lalal.ai) to separate the vocals from the background backing tracks. Lalal.ai processes these files to extract stems in accordance with their secure terms and privacy practices. The separated vocal and instrumental stems are returned to your device. We do not store or monetize your uploaded audio.

4. Third-Party APIs and Discontinued Features

  • No Lyrics Database Access: The app no longer integrates with the Musixmatch API and has completely removed all synchronized lyrics display capabilities. No search terms, track metadata, or requests are sent to Musixmatch.
  • YouTube Media Streaming: The app includes integrated options to look up corresponding official music videos using the YouTube Data API. When you access these video streams, you interact directly with Google services. This activity is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Device Permissions

To deliver our rich offline music experience, the app requests the following system permissions:

  • Read Storage / Media Access: Necessary to scan and index local audio tracks on your device, allowing you to play them, build custom playlists, and launch the visualizer.
  • Internet Access: Necessary only to communicate with Lalal.ai for AI Karaoke vocal isolation and to stream official YouTube videos.

6. Security

Your local files are handled safely and securely. By keeping the vast majority of our features 100% offline and utilizing secure, industry-standard HTTPS endpoints for necessary online features (Lalal.ai and YouTube), we work to keep your library secure.
